Terms & Conditions
1. Boarding Fees & Payment
-
Boarding is charged per cat, per day. The daily charge includes the day of arrival and the day of departure.
-
Outstanding payment must be paid no later than seven days prior to arrival. Payment may be made earlier, or at the same time as the payment of the deposit.
-
Payment for the full amount is required on confirmed reservations made fourteen (14) days or fewer before arrival. In the case of a subsequent cancellation, none of the payment is refundable.
-
Settlement of invoices should be made by bank transfer to The Purrfect Retreat Limited business account. Full details are provided on the invoice. Cash payments are accepted in person.
-
An invoice will be issued and confirmation of payment provided. Formal receipts are available upon request.
-
If collection is delayed by one day, an additional day’s boarding fee will be charged.
-
If collection is made earlier than the agreed departure date, no refunds will be given.
-
Where a stay is extended for any reason, including travel delays, illness, or emergency, the owner remains responsible for all additional boarding charges.
-
For indefinite long-term stays, an upfront payment equivalent to eight weeks’ boarding is required. Subsequent payments will be due every four weeks thereafter.
-
Between 1 April and 30 September, four weeks’ notice of collection is required for long-term stays.
-
Prices are subject to change without notice; however, confirmed bookings will be honoured at the rate agreed at the time of booking.
2. Bookings & Cancellations
-
To secure a suite for your cat(s), a non-refundable deposit of fifty percent (50%) of the total invoice value is required immediately upon receipt of the invoice. Until the deposit is paid, the reservation remains provisional.
-
A cancellation or change of booking made more than fourteen (14) days before the planned arrival date will result in no further charge. Any outstanding payment made in advance will be refunded in full.
-
A cancellation or change of booking made within seven (7) days of the planned arrival date will be charged at one hundred percent (100%) of the invoiced amount unless the suite can be re-let, in which case twenty-five percent (25%) of the invoice value will be refunded.
-
We operate an electricity surcharge for heating during the months of November to April (inclusive). This charge will be refunded in the event of cancellation, regardless of the amount of notice given.
-
We do not accept bookings more than twenty-four (24) months in advance.
-
We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of booking will apply to that booking.
3. Opening Hours
-
Monday to Saturday: 10:00 – 12:00 hours and 16.00 – 18.00 hours
-
Sundays and all Bank Holidays – closed for drop-offs and collections
-
All drop-offs and collections must be made during our opening hours or, in exceptional cases only, by prior arrangement
4. Accommodation & Suite Allocation
-
Only cats from the same household may share a suite.
-
All reservations must be for a minimum stay of three (3) days. In exceptional circumstances where a stay of one or two days is required, we will endeavour to accommodate the request; however, the charge will be equivalent to the standard suite rate for three (3) days.
-
If a preferred suite is already reserved but can be made available through rearrangement of other bookings, or if a reserved suite is changed at the owner's request, an administration fee of £20 will apply.
-
To guarantee a specific suite for the duration of the stay, a supplementary charge of £10 will be added to the invoice.
-
While every effort will be made to ensure that guests remain in the same suite for the duration of their stay, we reserve the right to allocate or reassign suites as necessary to ensure the welfare and safe management of all guests and to respond to unforeseen circumstances or emergencies.
-
As travel delays are an inherent part of island living, we reserve the right, subject to availability, to extend a cat’s stay when requested. Any additional boarding charges will be payable upon collection.

Administration of a guest’s regular medication is included in the daily boarding fee. The owner must supply sufficient medication for the duration of the stay together with clear written instructions.
-
We will make reasonable efforts to administer medication as instructed; however, we cannot guarantee administration where a cat refuses treatment or where doing so would place staff at risk.
-
Any agreement to administer medication is undertaken at the owner’s risk.
-
In the event of illness or medical emergency, the owner authorises The Purrfect Retreat Limited to obtain veterinary treatment as deemed necessary. This may include medication, anaesthetic, surgery, hospitalisation, or emergency call-out.
-
All veterinary treatment costs, together with any associated staff costs, remain the responsibility of the owner.
-
We reserve the right to terminate boarding where a cat’s behaviour, health condition, or welfare needs present a risk to staff, other animals, or the safe operation of the cattery. In such circumstances, the owner or emergency contact will be required to arrange immediate collection.
-
Owners must provide at least one emergency contact who is authorised to make decisions and arrange collection of the cat if the owner cannot be contacted.

-
Cats without appropriate vaccination documentation cannot be accepted for boarding.
8. Collection & Abandonment
-
If a cat is not collected within fourteen (14) days of the agreed collection date and the owner has not made contact to arrange an alternative collection date, we reserve the right to make arrangements for the rehoming of the cat.
-
All boarding fees, veterinary costs, and associated expenses incurred prior to rehoming remain the responsibility of the owner and may be pursued for recovery.
9. Welfare, Safety & Security
-
The Purrfect Retreat has been designed, constructed, and is managed with the welfare, health, safety, and security of all visiting guests in mind.
-
Our accommodation complies with current legislation under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and is designed to support the five welfare needs of cats.

Cats are boarded entirely at the owner’s risk.
-
While every reasonable care and precaution is taken, we cannot accept responsibility for illness, injury, loss, or death unless caused by proven negligence.
